Roadside assistance would probably be a good idea too! We're coming from BC where we had contents insurance on our townhouse, and car insurance which you have to have through ICBC so I know there is much more choice here.   If you have costco membership, then check http://www.inovainc.ca. They are exclusive to Costco members. Also check https://www.kanetix.ca/ . They can also find a good rates. I recently switched from inova to kanetix, as they found a pretty good deal for me, which saved me almost 900 dollars a year
