That's true isn't there another one like caregiver.com or something that's for kids up to seniors?
PARENTS OF SPECIAL NEEDS ANGELS: does anyone know of certified childcare providers that specializes in special needs care, specifically autistic children. In the bay area, Thank you
Let's talk childcare. Or scroll past if you don't care.
We are looking for care for James during the day. We are starting out in the summer with two days a week, because Grandmas are wanting the other three. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I assume that most actual daycares would require more than two days a week, so we were thinking about perhaps finding someone to come to our house two days a week. Or find some other in house drop off.
Any suggestions ideas? And as a follow up, how much would you think we should pay someone to come to our house per day?

I've had friends who have great luck with hiring students from the job board in the UC as part-time nannies. There are also nanny websites that you can use (caregiver.com, I think). Good luck!!
Looking for daytime and weekend caregivers for my mom. Suggestions?
Karen S. replied:
Janie, several places you can check are: -church secretaries(they always seem to have a list of caregivers that may have served someone in the congregation) -caregiver.com-it is a site that helps to match up those needing help w/caregivers -nurses and CNA's at local hospital. They often do in home care when not working their regular shifts. If your Mom was recently in hospital,go back and talk with those that worked with her. They may have some leads. -check local OT,PT,or nursing programs. They often have students near graduation that can meet your needs. Most have had their clinicals and may have enough experience for what you need.I actually cared for a teen With cerebral palsy for several months before I left G'ville for my internships. There was a bulletin board in the OT dept. at school with jobs listed. -Seniors at your church often have leads. Good luck!
Anyone have any experience in elder care ?
Support group maybe ? Have a friend in need of a shoulder or a professional. Thx
Irene S. replied:
Go to www.caregiver.com. You can search by county for support groups. There are a couple right here in edison or highland park and they have them for different groups of caregivers. Hope that helps!

Was thinking of hiring a care giver for mom. A couple hours a week. Let me know if any of you guys do that, or know anyone they can recommend? Thank you

Doesn't a Caregiver.com site exist? I see one down here for babysitters, etc too.
Who on here knows of a good babysitter or day care that doesn't charge 150/child
Robert M. replied:
