  I have had intense back pain for about 7 or 8 years now, in generally one spot in my back. I've tried acupuncture, rolfing, yoga, and strengthening my back muscles but all that seems to touch it (and only for a couple hours-days) is massage. It started during a period of time in which I was playing violin 6 hours per day on average, and has worsened with time. Does anyone know of a excellent massage therapist who is reasonably priced and specializes in deep tissue or sports injury massage?

  If you go to your GP they'll give you a referral to a good PT who focuses on carpal tunnel stuff. That way you should be able to get it covered by insurance instead of having to do direct pay for going without a referral.
