  Best car wash in San Jose? I have been to one car wash by my house downtown and come away with a nice sized scratch. Since, I have been weary of trying anywhere else in the area. I am looking for a cheap but thorough place to wash my SUV in the San Jose area. Yelp reviews are hit or miss, thought I would see what the community had to recommend.

  Classic Car Wash is probably my favorite choice (http://www.classiccarwash.com/). The one on Hamilton has a 'self service' option that is $8, otherwise they'll do the interior as well for about $14. They do get a little busy sometimes which can be annoying, but they're all pretty nice places and I haven't had any complaints. I also got an $80 Groupon once for AJ's auto detailing for a full detail (http://www.ajautodetailing.com/mobile.html) and they did an awesome job. Liked them so much that I bought another one for my wife's car, but that's like a five-hour detail. Worth the money if that's what you're looking for though!

  I agree with Classic Car Wash, but I came here to advise to never go to the wash on Bird and San Carlos...they are thieves that like to act like they don't know what you're talking about. My mom hadher old Mercedes washed there and they took her original mats with the emblems and switched them out for ones that were tattered and obviously not original. They were shocked when we noticed. They also stole my brothers 160Gb iPod Classic out of the center console in 08 so I tell everyone I can to never go there.

  Pacific Hand Car Wash on Bascom. It's a tad expensive (about $25) but there's a reason the line is full of Bentleys and Porsches. Classic car wash is only slightly better than driving through a gas station wash. They are popular because of all their coupons.
