  birding/wildlife/nature? Myself and my partner are going to be moving to the Hamilton area at the end of the summer. We both live in Connecticut and work at nature centers, we often go to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and upstate NY to camp, but our favorite activity is bird watching! I know that the landscape and forests are pretty different in Ohio than it is over here toward the coast, I was looking for recommendations on good places to go birding, wildlife watching, camping, or hiking! Also any local nature centers we can check out. And especially any places with pine forests, I have no idea how common they might be there. Willing to go for a good drive so feel free to list things that are pretty far! The hardest part of moving is definitely going to be being away from New England forests, so any help is super appreciated!

  Definitely check out Cincinnati Nature Center for birding/wildlife. I'd also recommend poking around [the Cincinnati parks website](http://cincinnatiparks.com) and [the Hamilton county parks website](http://greatparks.org), there are lots of great options in and around the city. Red River Gorge (KY) and Hocking Hills (OH) are two very popular state parks for hiking and camping, both within a 2-3 hr drive. It won't be quite like the forests you are used to, but you will find some gorgeous sandstone formations and there are definitely some sections that are more coniferous. I'd also recommend Hueston Woods (OH), about an hour away.
