  Anyone know of any good consignment places and/or appraisers around the area? My MIL passed away this past year and come the new year we'll need to tackle the dismantling of her estate. Neither my boyfriend nor I have ever had to handle something like this. We were considering an estate sale, but I'm not keen on the idea of letting strangers come into our home as I very well may let in a burglar whose only goal is to case out the place. To give you an idea of some of the things we'd try to sell via a consignment store: electric grand piano in excellent condition, humongous 6-seater glass dining table set (plate of glass rests on two humongous and heavy stone pedestals), marble top dining room armoire, solid wood bedroom set (4-post bed, chest of drawers). These are all gorgeous pieces that I wish we could hold onto, but we can't.
