NMDR is very careful, and only allow certain volunteers to go pick up dogs, as they are very protective of where their dogs come from. They do not release names of Puppy mills or auction houses, as they are trading the dogs for anonymity. Yes, they are buying these dogs cheaply or sometimes given them, as it allows the breeder/mill to dispose themselves of them. I've seen the condition these animals come in, many females have tumours, some malnourished, hair missing, sores, dogs paws mishaped (from being kennels all their life), and the list goes on and can get worse, because NMDR does not report them. Yes Theresa Stradlers theory is she's saving lives, which in a sense, but the worst part is, she's allowing it to continue. Just think, if she said something, it would stop it, instead she allows it to continue to do many more. I cannot support that theory, nor will I stay silent. She knows each one of these Puppy Mills, and auction houses very well, and knows where each dog comes from, but does nothing to stop the abuse/neglect. Yes she takes care of, and cleans up each dog she gets, but perhaps some of these places would cease to exist if she had reported them. I'm sorry but I don't find this rescuing, I find it appalling!

  PLEASE rescue - there are loads of purebred rescues and milldogrescue.org pulls dogs used for breeding in horrific puppy mills and they often have litters of puppies for adoption. You can also try animalhavenshelter.org. As for vets, my vet is in Tribeca, but you don't find one closer, let me know and I'm happy to connect you. :)

  Denver area! Park Meadows Mall has a pet store in it. I saw this boy there today! Date of birth 4/14/14. Bred in Nebraska. He is in a small cage with another dog (not sure of breed) and looks stressed, hot and a little dehydrated. Nose was very dry when I went in. Asking over $1,700 for him, but it looks like they are having a sale. The paperwork had the breeders name on it, but I don't want to publish it. It had a buyers name on it as well, so I'm not sure if the breeder even knows he is there. Nebraska breeders PM me with concerns. Anyone know of someone looking to adopt a baby Sheepie?
