where to spay dog? What is the best clinic to spay a dog in victoria, and how much did it cost? I had a bad experience at a certain clinic in victoria, and am looking for one that dose not financially take advantage of pet owners.

Vets in Victoria/Saanich? Hi there! The posts on here about vets are all a bit old - so I thought I'd ask!
I'm very cautious about finding a vet for my puppy, as I find that many of them either charge ridiculous prices or are just crappy vets.
Any suggestions of places to go or to avoid? Currently just need to get my pup on a parasite prevention program, but am hoping to find a lifelong vet in the process.

We have been taking our puppy to Dr. Helen Rae at McKenzie Veterinary (http://mckvets.com). They were recommend to us by several friends and we are quite happy with her. As for prices, I really have nothing to compare it to. Seems to be what I would expect though. I did find that she was quite good about giving options with prices associated and not just recommending the expensive ones.
Hello! I need a vet and an optometrist- recommendations?

I've taken my kitty to Dr Chris Tom at McKenzie Veterinary Services on Carey Road at Tillicum (next to the 7-11 on the corner). I've been impressed with his thoroughness and his non-rushed manner as he carefully explained everything we needed to know. There is lots of free parking in the lot beside them, it's wheelchair accessible, and the front desk staff are very friendly, too. They have an impressive website which gives you a virtual tour (if you want) and there are several vets working there, which means they offer awesome hours - open 7 days per week, including until 8 pm M-Thu, 5/6 weekends. They also offer mobile services where they come to you and can give a wide variety of care in your home! Of course it costs more, but if you have very anxious pets or perhaps a few, it might be worth it for you to have them come to you! Check out their website and see if it suits your needs. I'll be going back. http://mckvets.com/
