Just ordered a Tele neck and body from Warmoth. I’m trying to think of a good color. Anyone know of good places to order nitro, in vintage fender colors? Looking for 60’s colors.
Found this in a local thrift shop. Guy said it was alder, about 20 years old. Former owner never got around to doing anything with it. Suggestions? Colors? WWYD?

If it's relatively light, reranch.com has all the fender colors, grain-fillers, etc to get a great finish. If it's on the heavy side, just a couple-three coats of tru-oil. Then my first choice is maple neck, white-guard, early 50 s style pickups.
So I'm thinking about having my squier cv 50s strat refinished in nitro and/or relic'd. Anyone know anyone who does it fairly cheap? Or any advice as to how to diy?

it's labor intensive... nobody that does it well is going to do it "cheap" takes a lot of time. I learned how by researching and asking questions... check out http://reranch.com/ for some great products and when done right, the aerosol cans of nitro can give great results... i've used it 3 or 4 times now and love it.
Think I'm going to rebuild a Jazz bass to be a replica of Matt Sharp's main bass. Anyone have any suggestions about some reading on guitar building a repair? Nicholas Poss Peter Jenkins and Blake Fisher I'm looking at you guys.

Reranch.com is my source for any questions regarding anything guitar repairing/restoring you can also order finishing supplies there.
A question for those of you who have experience making electric guitars. I'm working on building a Stratocaster from parts and I've already selected a body and neck but I'm still shopping around for the electronics and hardware. Can anybody recommend a good website to buy parts from? Or if you know of a good Store in the south Louisiana area that sells guitar parts? The closer to Lafayette the better but I wouldn't necessarily making an hour or two drive to get a good hands on look at the parts before I buy them. Also if anybody has any experience painting and finishing guitar bodies I'd appreciate any tips and tricks you could give me. I want to get either a two tone sunburst or a tobacco sunburst, whichever will be easier to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

[GFS](http://www.guitarfetish.com) is a great place to start looking. Most of their hardware is pretty good for the price you pay. If you'd like to keep a tight budget, I'd say order from there. If there's a part you end up hating later, just swap it out for something better. About the finishing: You can take a look on [Project Guitar](http://www.projectguitar.com/) or [ReRanch](http://www.reranch.com/). Lots of tutorials and explanations there.
I'm thinking about painting my guitar. I'd like some advice, since I've never done it before. Can anyone reccomend a helpful website, product, etc?
Or...do any of you know of a place in town that does good work?
