About us
At last! For all the woman out there dreading to go for their yearly check-up, shying away to ask 'those' questions, blushing at the thought of going for 'that first visit'......
The Girls Spot: A unique, vibrant, funky, relaxed woman's clinic, run by woman, for woman. We offer gynecological facilities, as well as a contraception and immunisation clinic.
The Birth Boutique: A guesthouse with a difference! Come and deliver your baby in one of our birthing rooms, with a comfortable double bed, beautifully decorated for that special experience. You might even want to try out our water birthing facilities! You will be assisted by a midwife at all times with emergency medical equipment and backup, should the need arise. To deliver at our unit, your pregnancy must be classified as low risk. This will be done by our gynecologist.
The Coffee Queen: Come and wind down in our garden themed coffee shop, no uptight waiting room with pictures of medical conditions! Your little ones can noisily play outside. We will even look after them during your appointment! (We have kids too, you know!)
Mbali and Poppy, our baristas, will make you a devine cup of mammachino (cuppacino), goggo's goodness (cafe mocha) or a hot flush (red espresso ) that you can enjoy with a red velvet cupcake! We also sell biscuits that are beautifully decorated. Our themes include 'it's a boy' ,'it's a girl' , 'flowers' and 'something fun'....
Our Team:
Doctor Idalette Boshoff, our gynecologist and obstetrician, will put you right at ease. With her bubbly personality she will sort out all your intricate "lady-problems", without making you feel uncomfortable in any way!
She has a special interest in high risk pregnancies, recurrent miscarriages , poli cystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis and, of course, a good cuppacino! She works in Eugene Marais and Femina hospitals.
Sister Leonora Boshoff (not related to dr!) runs our contraception and baby and child immunisation clinic. She is a qualified sister and... show more midwife and also worked in neonatal ICU. She knows much more about babies than dr Boshoff will ever do, so you can ask her all the baby related, breast feeding, and the very important - how to prevent making a baby, questions. She also does beautifull 4D scans of our babies. At 20 weeks of pregnancy, you can get an image of the whole baby and at 28-32 weeks the facial features can be seen. Just remember, if baby moves to much, it can be difficult to get a perfect image!
Sister Erna Loedolff is our qualified midwife and manager of our Birth Boutique. She has been delivering babies for 30 years, doing water births and natural deliveries during all hours of the day and night. She has a heart of gold and takes very good care of her patients. She also does deliveries at the Femina Hospital Birth unit, for those of you that want a natural delivery at a hospital facility.
Antoinette du Plessis is our competent practice manager. (There is also a rumor that she might be dr Boshoff's mother.) She is our personal relations administrator and keeps our patients and staff happy at all times, although this is sometimes done by offering patients a free cuppacino if they have to wait more than an hour for the doctor! She also manages our financial quotes and queries and is the person to talk to about your medical aid concerns. Please also remember to bring your newborn baby to her for a hug and cuddle, that really makes her day!
Madelein van der Walt is our administration diva. She does everything from answering the phone and making appointments to organising dr Boshoff's life. (This is obviously a daunting task!) She does all of this with a huge smile, lots of laughs and a great deal of patience. We would truly be lost without her!
