Can anyone recommend a good photo scanning service. Just recently started down sizing and getting rid of unused items. Going through everything I am realizing I have alot of printed photos. Trying to scan them myself would be a very large project that I would rather not do. I've seen several of these types of services on line. Just wondering if anyone has tried them and can recommend a good one. I just don't want to mail some of these great photos off to just anyone.

I'm a bit late to your post, but I used: https://legacybox.com/. There was a Groupon deal so I paid a lot less. I had no issues with them. They send a box with instructions on shipping the pictures. Once they were scanned I got a link to the files in Google Drive, and once I approved they shipped the pictures back to me.
VHS to DVD? I have a few home videos on VHS I'd like to convert to DVD. Can anyone recommend a local service for this that is reliable? One of the videos is our wedding video, 17 years old, so could potentially be fragile.

Can anyone recommend a very reliable service that takes old school slides and converts into digital? I’d prefer something local so I can drop off/pick up myself rather than shipping.
Thanks!!

Legacybox.com. they send a box to you to send your treasures in. They do a wonderful job.
Looking for reasonably priced place to get copies of DVD to DVD and Videotape to DVD. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Recently used Legacybox.com which is very convenient - they send you a prepaid mailing carton so you just put your videos in the box and mail or fedex it back. But it wasn't cheap, even with the discount.

Legacybox and Southtree are same company. Just had very bad experience with them, even when sending back the order for them to re-do, they still got it wrong. Do not use them!

Anyone know of a local person who can convert VHS tapes to DVD? We have old family home movies from the 1950s and 1960s that were converted to VHS years ago as well as some "newer" VHS tapes that we now want to preserve on DVDs,
Justine R. replied:
Legacybox.com. Not local but it's a great service. You buy a box from them (all different sizes) and then fill it with whatever media you have and specify how you want it converted. They have a big sale now with coupon codes.
Wondering if anyone has experience with local company or individual who restores/transfers 8-16 mm film. Thanks for help and response!

I have all my mom's old photographs that I'd like to have scanned to a CD. Can anyone recommend a local service that will do this for me? Thanks!
Bob C. replied:
We've been using the Legacybox service for our home video transfers, Annie. They also do photographs. They are famous for offering "sales," up to 70% off, so I'd not look at their pricing and think that's the best they'll do. (http://legacybox.com)
