That's it. I decided last night. I'm getting LASIK surgery. I can't deal with these contact lens issues anymore. Anyone care to share...

Dr. Horn, Lasik Plus in Oakbrook (in the shopping center where the Grotto restaurant was). I NEVER have regretted it! As I'd gotten older, my eyes were so much drier and I was going through (disposable) contacts like crazy because they'd get cloudy. http://www.lasikplus.com/location/oak-brook-lasik-center/
Nancy H. replied:
LASIK - some of the best money I ever spent! Dr. Louis Probst - he literally wrote the book on LASIK techniques: http://www.lasikwithprobst.com/ Conveniently located in Westchester, IL.

Did my about 8 years ago. Love. Love. Love it. Dr. Horn over by Woodfield. Has hastened the need for reading glasses (which they explained would happen). Don't regret one second. No pain. Saw the next day. Was/ is fabulous!
Nancy H. replied:
Dr. Probst is the National Medical Director for TLC, so technically a duplicate referral LOL...also one of the most experienced in the country. When it comes to my eyeballs being sliced, I HAD to go with experience!
Jennifer V. replied:
I had Dr. Probst also. Lasted 6 years before I was back in bi-focal contacts at 45.
Vickie W. replied:
I had mine done last September. Dr. Horn in Oak Brook. I would highly recommend. Best part of recovery was sleeping. Go for it.
Tricia L. replied:
I had my eyes done by Dr. Lou Probst of TLC back in 1999. It was phenomenal, he's truly the BEST! Honestly, I went from negative 11 / 12 (very bad nearsightedness) to better than 20/20 and still going pretty strong. It's been 14.5 years, and now I'm mid-40's, so just a little fuzziness because of age. He is simply THE BEST. Literally wrote 'The Book' on Lasik (a 3-inch textbook, his name on it) to teach others how to do it.
Chris K. replied:
I had Lasik and it was fantastic. Wheaton Eye Clinic, Dr. Brazis. Wherever you go, go to a reputable eye Dr.
Angel S. replied:
I work at New Vision in Rockford. Dr. Vakharia is a fabulous surgeon, if you want to travel...
Cristina G. replied:
I did mine in Nov. 2010 and it was one of the best things I ever did! It was at Kraff Eye Institute, 25 E. Washington St. The first consultation is free, if you go, mention my full name (Maria Cristina Grieco) and you will get a referral discount on your surgery. I absolutely love it!!
Nancy H. replied:
Dr. Probst also developed technology for the procedures - not that I'm biased or anything
Liz R. replied:
I had mine done by Dr. Probst about 9 years ago and have 5 friends that did as well. Definitely recommend him. No pain at all. Dryness though. Refresh Tears eye drops were never far away from me.
