Downtown BR has experienced a real renaissance since the Shaw Center for the Arts opened. There are lots of restaurants, a few bars, and more and more residents. The DDD (Downtown Development District) says that over 100,000 people travel downtown each day, M-F - most of whom, of course, are state employees. If you haven't yet been to the State Museum YOU SHOULD GO - it's really wonderful!

One of the weekend pharmacist worked at Angola Prison during the week and oh the stories he would tell. Governor Jimmie Davis used to come in as a customer too. It was a very interesting place to work!
