Not Wake Forest related but can anyone recommend a good family restaurant in Boone or Blowing Rock? We have a 4yo and a 5mo and everything I found online were bars. Tia!

A few doors down from the Holiday Inn Express in Blowing Rock, on the same side of the street next to an Outback is a nice, family owned restaurant that is more than welcome to children. I can't remember the name off hand

If you like country cooking, Shatley Springs is the place to go. It is down the mountain before you get to Boone and according to google maps, should take about 42 minutes to get there from Boone. http://www.shatleysprings.com/menu_lunch&dinner.htm When I use to go to Boone a lot, always made a trip to Shatley Springs to eat and be sure to take your appetite with you.

Daniel Boone Inn. Yum! It's family style. We go for lunch/dinner every time we go to Boone. And we always seem to go to Mellow Mushroom too. LOL

Black Cat for burritos, Coyote Kitchen for southwest type food (their boats are amazing), Red Onion, Melanie's or Sunrise for breakfast, Makoto's for Japanese, Canyons in BR for views, Town Tavern in BR has the best wings and if you go for lunch or early dinner it's not very tavern-ish

I second Daniel Boone Inn. Served family style...yummy!!!
