I love Dr. Mize, too. He's a good doctor and a fine man. I am sure that he simply could not continue the pace that works indefinitely. No doubt it is the best of both worlds for him to have a smaller, more manageable practice- more time to spend providing wellness care for patients and more time for himself. I don't think that I will be able to stay with his practice either, but I wish him the very best!

I'm like the rest of you. We just can't swing the extra cost. It's almost as much as we pay for our health insurance. And I don't think it can all be blamed on the Affordable CareAct. This has been going on for about 10 years or more. I believe it started in California. Dr. Mize has been our primary car doctor for over 30 years, and I am truly sorry to lose his knowledge and care.

Dr Paul Behrman in Dawsonville. NE Ga physicians group. He is perfect for all of that! When I was sick a few years back, he called me back himself anytime I had questions. The only bad thing is he is very busy. He does not rush you through at all. Very thorough but I have had to wait sometimes.

In his defense, I love, love, love Dr. Mize. With more than one person in my family (including me), he really dug deep to find the source of some illnesses. I had to switch to Kaiser while self-employed and we stayed with it after I married Toby because I liked my drs. at the time, Dr. Markey (also an excellent Dr!), was the only local doc on the KP plan. A couple of years ago, we renewed KP in November Open Season as usual, then rec'd a letter January 6 that Markey would no longer be on the plan. Uggghhh... I saw Dr. Mersburger for a while at Physicians Immediate Med n Dawson, then Dr Yost at the one at Johns Creek. Loved both, but they are more "urgent care" than primary. Please let me know what y'all decide! I need a caring ear who can manage all my meds and various conditions, work with my specialists, and is easily accessible!

Oh... and yes, it's not Dr. Mize or Markey or any other well-care physicians' fault. Ever since Obamacare came up, it's been said that it will put independent doc's out of biz unless they offer "concierge" or membership type service. All so we can pay for... ok. not gonna finish that sentence. the writing is on the obamacare wall.

You are just paying to have him on retainer...just like a lawyer....Love, love Dr.Mize and very sad my parents are 75 and hunting a new Dr. They are way past well visits. They have been with him since he started practicing:(
