Anybody have kids with migraines? Why do they take? Anybody know a good Peds neurologist that is taking patients?
Suzie B. replied:
Stephanie Wyatt, she does not have allergies but she does a strong aversion to mint anything! Mint makes her gag and puke. Has to be a health alliance doctor. We saw a neurologist in Peoria for Garett and liked him a lot! Thanks for the idea though.

I get these for mine and they work great. I also buy them at Walmart and Walgreens http://www.amazon.com/WellPatch-Migraine-Cooling-Headache-Pads-4 ct/dp/B000GGJBSA/ref=pd_sim_hpc_14?ie=UTF8&refRID=15HG08V81RFJC704BVZA

A lot of time, they can be hereditary. Treatments are limited in kids- Ibuprofen is usually a mainstay. Look for triggers- food, stress, lack of sleep, weather changes, allergies- treat what you can there. In the area...I think Dr, Kennedy at Carle might be only Peds neuro- I send a lot to Riley in Indy...

Thanks, Melody Redenbaugh Wilson, I just don't know if they will give an 8 year old anything. I think the ice and water thing has to be done right away. I'll retread it and see. Kelly Skender gave me some ideas too! Thanks to everyone for all of your ideas!
