Massage Green Spa in Flower Mound. Great therapists. Marcus and Krista give great Sports massages. Brad, Jennifer and Teresa also have very good deep tissue. 1 Hr intro massage is $39.95 and they will give you a 1 HR infrared sauna session free! Do the sauna before the massage. It relaxes and warms the muscles. 972-200-1730

Looking for a good, local sports medicine doctor. Would prefer one who specializes in leg injuries. Thank you!
Sherie S. replied:
Oh no! I saw Dr. Doyle for my IT band issues several years ago.

There's a huge difference in a true Sports Medicine MD, usually an Internist, trained in non-invasive/non-surgical treatment of sports related orthopedic injuries or chronic problems and an Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the operative repair of injuries that happen during sports related activities. I know that sounds confusing but I ran Orthopedic clinics for 10+ years and there is a difference. Are you looking for a surgeon to treat a leg injury? Here's the description for a Sports Medicine Specialist- Sports medicine doctors are primary care physicians who treat injuries to the body's joints, muscles or bones. They are trained to address issues associated with nutrition, sports psychology and substance abuse. They may also counsel athletes on injury prevention or work with special populations, such as young children or older adults. Sports medicine doctors often work with physical therapists to create a rehabilitation plan or with athletic trainers to develop an exercise regimen. Sports medicine doctors do not operate on athletes but can expedite referral to a surgeon when surgery is required.
Gypsy C. replied:
Dr. Ryan Modlinski, in Grapevine is the closest "Sports Medicine" physician in our area. He is NOT an Orthopedic Surgeon. Otherwise, you will need to drive to Dallas. http://www.txortho.net/physicians-modlinski.html
My daughter is a swimmer and got a quad strain. We saw Dr. Kulwicki at Texas Ortho. Great experience and she's getting better at rehab. I've also heard good things about Dr. Doyle mentioned above too. http://www.orthotexas.com/m/kevin-j-kulwicki-m-d

Looking for a Sports Medicine Doctor that deals with muscles. Have been to Orthopedic Associates many times in the past, but they primarily deal with only bone related...
Kathryn K. replied:
Yes! All Star Orthopaedics in Baylor Irving. My DD ripped a glute muscle in two spots doing a leap in gymnastics. (MRI showed one at first (large tear in large muscle hid the second tear, second MRI showed the second tear.) It was a long healing process but they were so gentle with her. It did not end her career but did end her season. Lots of Cowboys, Mavs and Stars go to this team of doctors and they see lots of athletes from across the metroplex. I felt blessed to be able to get in.
