New to ROC, questions abound. Hi all, just moved to Rochester at the end of June, started at UR, bought a house in Irondequiot, and was hoping to seek this sub's advice...

2.) I cannot recommend Matt at http://www.doctorelectricservices.com/ highly enough. Super professional, thorough, clean work. Great prices and turnaround time.

5: They both suck, go with TW as while their customer service may suck a little more, they have faster internet and no contract commitment.

*Fuck* TWC. Drop them ASAP.

> 5.Do I even both with Frontier for internet or do I stick with TWC? Please decipher this for me. I don't know what this means.

5) I would rather stick a sewing needle in my eye than use frontier.

0:East/West Irondequoit? I'm in SE Irondequoit. 1: Don't know one, but I'm interested in hearing recs as well. 2: I really like Lon Lockwood Electric - they do a great great job, super professional, and are willing to talk you through what they're doing. Have a bit of a corporate feel to them with standardized pricing, and they're on the pricier side, but IMO it's worth it. 3:Chimney repair I can get back to you on - had a guy inspect ours when we moved in, but his card is at home. 4: I'd say Home Depot would be fine for keys, unless you want to change your locks. 5: TWC - it's an evil, but a necessary one. Frontier is terrible. Maybe you'll get lucky enough to be in a neighborhood with Greenlight soon (local ISP), but don't hedge your bets. 6: No experience, but the most popular I've seen is Comfort, followed by Wonder Windows. Welcome to Rochester, and Irondequoit!

Regarding #5: What part of Irondequoit do you live in? If you're in the Winona Woods area (west side of St. Paul near the Seneca Park Zoo), you might have access to [Greenlight Networks](http://greenlightnetworks.com/) very soon. Way better than TWC or Frontier if it's available in your neighborhood.

I'm in Irondequoit and had Comfort do my windows back in April, including combining two separate into one large unit. Not the cheapest option but very happy with the results and service. Larry was the salesman I dealt with.

Keys - Black's Hardware on East Ridge near Hudson does a lot of keys. Also - Advanced Safe & Lock on Lake Ave near Ridgeway Ave. has been around for years and are very experienced.

> Electrical I had work done by [Jeff Thomas Electric](http://www.jeffthomaselectric.com/), would definitely recommend. Reasonable prices, friendly, and got the work done right. A few things took longer than either of us would've thought, and he stuck through it and got the job done.

5. Southeast Roc here, Frontier has done us well. Three people regularly on and only sometimes has to be reset. We refused to give in to the TWC plague

4) There's a little hardware shop next to Ace Hardware that makes copies of keys for $2. They might be able to smith them too.
