I have an appt on the 26 th with a neurosurgeon, Dr Rosner. My insurance is being a pain in the butt and will not authorize duke. It's where I want to go
Kimberly T. replied:
I am new to the group and haven't had my surgery yet but I have read a lot of good things about Dr. Rosner
Andrea R. replied:
Yes, there are a few great ones out there. This is the place to be. I live in Connecticut, so very close to Long Island. So I went to the Chiari Institute. ASAP.org and Conquer Chiari will help you in the journey as well all of us. I'm not sure where you are located so I can't help you.
Elizabeth C. replied:
Glad you hear you have an appt with Dr. Rosner. Duke may be a great place, but remember that that doesn't mean that they are Chiari experts. They can be the best doctors in the world, but if they haven't had specialized training, they aren't going to know much about Chiari.
Amanda W. replied:
Dr. Rosner is one of the best for CM.
Windie B. replied:
I went to Matthew Ewing at chapel hill for surgery
Terry W. replied:
Dr Mhoon but he is at Duke Medical
Megan J. replied:
My son goes to Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine in Charlotte. Dr Henegar specializes in Chiari. He is wonderful
Lisa W. replied:
Megan Jones we go there too, we see Dr. Asher!
Lisa W. replied:
Yep, we aren't happy with our neurologist but what chiarian is? LOL. Dr. Asher is wonderful. We may try a neurologist here in Gastonia, though I'm not a fan of most doctors out this way. LOL
Any good questions that you guys suggest I ask my neurosurgeon tomorrow?! I recently got diagnosed with Chiara Malformation 1, so this is my first time seeing him!

Dr. Boyne is good. He's in the Olympic Plaza. I worked for him awhile back.

Mercer clinic, Dr Floyd Mercer in tyler. I don't recommend many dr's but Dr Mercer is an amazing dr!
LeAnn F. replied:
Dr. Erin Phillips! She's with Trinity Mother Frances.
Clay K. replied:
Yes...Dr. Hugh G. Rekshon with ETMC. If not there, try Dr Phil McCrotch. Both are really good.
Justin L. replied:
Everything is ok Charlotte Parker Braswell! And DANG IT Clay Keith!!! I got excited when I saw you responded, being a DOCTOR and all I just knew you would have a great recommendation. Too bad Dr. McCrotch is in prison for inappropriate relations with patients!
Milinda P. replied:
Dr Plotkin with Etmc is moms. He is brilliant
Heather L. replied:
Dr Plotkins is the best in Tyler but I believe he only sees patients with Parkinson's. Dr Boyne, dr. Bettinger or dr Collins are the other 3 that I would use
Mallory T. replied:
Dr. Kariampuzha! He's amazing!!!!
Rose O. replied:
Dr Bettinger Great personality too!
Mike M. replied:
I've seen Dr Kariampuzha and the only complaint I had was his staff. dr Boyne I still use. He is very fun and will talk all day about personal stuff but does not seem to want to spend much time on the medical issues but I always leave laughing. dr Sutherland is my other Neuro and works hard on trying to find a fix but not very personal. U make the call as to what u are looking for.
Need recommendations for neurologist. I'd like to know good and bad please
Joan R. replied:
I used Dr. Hamer and Dr. Perkins.

I've seen Hamer in the hospital for migraines & was pleased with his recommended treatment. We use Dr. David Owen at Medical City in Dallas for Daniel.

Dr. Hamer!!!

I had a cyst on my brain and Dr. Hamer was my neurologist in east tx. He is excellent. I don't have a single bad thing to say about him.
Names of a good neurologist in Longview? I am not familiar enough with doctors around here. All is fine...just having some head and neck issues.
Sandra B. replied:
We use Dr Hamer
Karen P. replied:
I have seen Perkins & Hamer for many years for migraines. Both good in my opinion. Never had a problem with either. They are in the same office. DCOL/Medical Plaza
