Once you have his prescription it is much cheaper to buy online. I got my last glasses from www.eyebuydirect.com. They have some as low as $6 depending on the frame and that includes the prescription. Great place to get prescription sunglasses too.

If you have a Costco membership, my husband got his glasses there with exam, anti glare and transitions for a total of 130, best fitting glasses he's ever had. He use to go to Eye Mart express and we got way better service/glasses with Costco.

Costco for eye exam. Zenni Optics for glasses. The cute ones in my pic were $12 including lenses. I took them to my optometrist friend to ensure they are correct and they are spot on. Just make sure with the prescription to have them give you pupil distance or PD- they often don't put it down and you need it
