Jonathan L. replied:
I had forgotten about Dr. Riley Jones. And I don't know HOW, because he IS one of the best, if not THE best, ortho surgeons in the area. I was in an accident in 1991, wrapped around a telephone pole. Dr. Jones was my doc. Clay is right: his bedside...See More

Dr. Steven Wagner at Memphis orthopedic did my back surgery in April 2003 & he is the only one I'd let do it again. I have only had maybe 3 times I've had to go back & it was just a strain muscle!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him!!!! His was in the top 5 in the country at that time!!!

Oh and I know The Lord will lead you to the right one. He did for me when I decided to finally do all of my total joint replacement surgeries back in the 90 s.
Sherry J. replied:
I am not sure what type of surgery you need but mom had her whole lumber fused with rods and pins 2 years ago. Within 6 months she was clear to go water skiing. DR. Pratt is amazing.

Dr. Julius Fernandez at Semmes Murphey did my spinal fusion. I have worked in the Medical field for 26 years and I carefully researched and checked and found whom I consider the best! I used to work for Dr. Ed Pratt for 9 years when he worked at Ortho Memphis and he is good too. I would not let Dr. Riley Jones do my surgery if he did it free. Sorry just trying to be honest!

Tammy, since Travis is an athlete, call the head athletic trainer at U of M and ask him who they use. Dr. Miller was our liason with Campbell Clinic for USA Baseball. Just any back surgeon doesn't mean they understand athletes. Scott's dr who did his surgery is in N. Little Rock or I would highly recommend him for Travis.
Cheryl B. replied:
I don't know how your insurance does but there also are some awesome athletic surgeons in Birmingham. Dr. Miller would know best.
Stacy H. replied:
Semmes-Murphy, Maurice smith, hubby has had two back surgeries, one was neck fusion, great results, no issues.
Shea B. replied:
Dr. Parsioon is one of the best in his field. he was at Campbell for years. He performed my back surgery. He will not operate unless he feels it will yiels positive results. Go for a consult - it can't hurt.
Rebecca G. replied:
I am currently seeing Dr Dockery at Campbells Clinic for my back. I have arthritis in my neck, herniated disks, and pinched nerves. I have had a nerve block recently and it worked wonders. But I would suggest consults at first...and I do not think you could go wrong with either Campbells Clinic or Semmes Murphy.
Sondra Y. replied:
I suggest someone at Semmes-Murphy clinic. I've had to have 2 back surgeries and I used Dr Waggoner at Memphis Orthopedic. I know my back will never be perfect again but not happy with the results.
Amy B. replied:
I have always been pleased with Campbell Clinic - ask about specialists in back surgery - will be praying. Handing my little one over for serious foot surgery twice was so difficult but I never doubted Dr. Beaty at Campbell Clinic. He should be able to recommend the right person.
Ruth C. replied:
R.Riley Jones with Memphis Orthopedic worked medical magic on my back. I should have been paralyzed but I'm not. I highly recommend him.
Clay S. replied:
Dr. John Brophy and Dr. Riley Jones put my neck back togeather without killing me. Neither one of them has much of a bedside manor but they are both very good.
Aubrey S. replied:
Dr. Curley, southern spine clinic. I had L5 fusion. ...Good as new
Can anyone recommend a good Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Memphis Metro area?
