Collectibles are always subjective to what somebody is willing to pay for it... People buy shellac'ed Cow Pies as art... If he was told it was the greatest investment since gold, ya he was ripped off....If he bought it because it brings him joy, maybe not... I am not on either side of this, but very often I see people make bad financial mistakes based on what they think, not what they have researched and know.... and there is always somebody willing to take advantage of those who think they know.... PT Barnum made quite a living entertaining folks with what were basic and simple presentations. But he found a way to get people to believe that they were watching something special....
