Hi Marcie, Other than Dr. Rubenstein at Kaiser's chronic pain dept, the only other local pain specialist in the Santa Rosa area that I am familiar with and that I would recommend is Dr. Ronald Botelho. He is my husband's work comp doctor and his website says that he is accepting new patients. www.ronaldjbotelhomd.org/ My husband's has been going to him for about two years and he likes him. Like many pain docs he is an anesthesiology and he does interventional procedures and medical management. I've personally met him only once but I liked his manner and he listened well. He's been open to trying different approaches and various classes of medications typically used in pain management- I don't know if he is very knowledgeable on some of the latest thinking in pain management- he very well may be, but the type of modalities he's offered to my husband while varied, are still pretty much the standard or traditional pain management stuff- pain medications, injections, physical therapy etc. . His office is at 525 Doyle Park Drive #102, Santa Rosa, CA 95405 (707) 569-3230. If you are looking for a doctor who is more into cutting edge alternative modalities based on some of the most current pain research and you can travel a little further to Marin county, I recommend: Dr. Peter Abaci at Bay Area Pain and Wellness Center 1050 Northgate Dr, Ste 460 - San Rafael, CA 94903 Tel: (415) 461-7246http://bapwc.com/ or Dr. Michael Moskowitz at Bay Area Pain Medical Associates at 3 Harbor Drive Suite 115 Sausalito, CA 94965 Tel: (415) 380-0480http://www.bayareapainmedical.com/ Good luck!
