I live in Lowertown and go to Como Park animal hospital. They have 24/7 urgent care and saved my cat's life at 1 am. The neighborhood isn't quite the best, but it's very far from unsafe.

There is an emergency vet off west 7 th that we used (i believe they do non-emergency services as well). They were fantastic and reasonable, and I would gladly recommend anyone use them. Awesome, compassionate and skilled. Clean place.

Saint Paul Pet Hospital is just a couple of miles away and I've had a good experience with them and my cat.

If you don't mind a trip over the river, Parkview Cat Clinic has been my cat's doctor for years. Really good folks.

We have a family friend who takes her German Shepherd to Banfield clinics for small stuff. Except for an after-hours sort of thing we take our dog and two cats to the [South Saint Paul Animal Hospital](http://www.sspah.com/). We've been going there for a while.

I go to Southview Animal Hospital in Inver Grove Heights...right off of Robert on the border of West St. Paul. I haven't had any complaints so far for my 2 cats. Girls are nice at the desk and the vets are good from what I can tell. My cats also don't fear for their lives when I take them in and just mosey around the room so i take that as a good sign too.

Inver Grove Animal hospital is good. Animal Emergency & Referral Center is great, though a bit more expensive, due to catering to emergencies (I took my dog for surgery here based on the rec of my good friend who is a vet).
