That's so awesome you are looking into a home birth, that was always my dream but for the same reasons I needed to be in a hospital. I would definitely get a doula for a hospital birth (did you know I'm a doula?) That would be #1 across the board they are going to be able to navigate the waters and they will probably know really good naturally minded doctors in your area also they may know of midwives who have hospital privileges. Check out DONA.or and CAPPA.com they are Doula certification agencies and will have a list of doulas in your area, and if $ is a issue talk to them because most doulas will work with you on money, for 99% it's a passion for birth not a paycheck Also, do a hospital tour and find out what they have like birthing balls, squat bar, laboring in tubs etc find out what they have available and what you will need to bring. If you want a list of questions to ask doctors I can send you some. You are so amazing for doing this! Natural birth is incredible!
