I recommend you see Dr. Timothy Garner in Raleigh. He is a neurosurgeon and operated on my husband's back. We learned it's best to see a neurosurgeon when the spine is involved, not an orthopedic surgeon.

I would second Dr. Koelevelde. We learned the same thing about going to a neurosurgeon vs. an orthopedist. Neurosurgeons know more about the nerves running through the spine (which is what actually causes the pain).

Check out Dr. Derrick Watson with OSNC, I've not had the issues you're going through but I did work with him for several years and he's the best. If you need surgery, OSNC has several docs that can take care of you.
