You can just walk in to Kitrell Animal Hospital. They actually don't take appointments. Only 20 minutes up Capital. Worth the drive for their prices. Great place.

We’ve been going to Heartwood Animal Hospital for years - they also take Care Credit which is nice

Please check out Wake Forest Animal. Dr Manning and Dr Mullins are amazing. we have used them for 10 years. We had 3 dogs and they discussed all their medical issues at length. When they found Melanoma on one of our dogs during a cleaning, Dr Mullins went above and beyond to research natural options to help our 13 yr old dog. Instead of 6-8 weeks, we had almost 6 months of great quality of life. Another dog gets anxiety and Dr Manning was awesome about choices he gave us in treating our 11 yr old male when he tore his ACL. They love animals and the office staff is just as great!

I had a lousy experience with Mitchell Mill when my cat was dying. The only honest vet I know that will not order unnecessary tests and use you to make $$$ is out in Wilson. If that's not too far for you, I can get you the contact info. My friend with 10 collies swears by him!

Call hospice. It's not the same as everyone used to think of hospice care. It's not about end of life. It's about assistance for the patient and the family.
