Most likely deep tissue massage (connective tissue/structural integration), trigger point release (NMT), and positional release techniques will be most helpful and effective in conjunction with chiropractic, physical therapy, and/or heat. Definitely consult a doctor if you feel it is at all related to the heart, etc. Sometimes calcium/magnesium taken internally can help sooth nerves and associated muscles that may be pinching nerves, and also magnesium infused creams and/or herbal oils like Ayurvedic Mahanarayan Oil can be applied topically for nerve pain relief. I would suggest heat, like you're doing, and chiropractor who takes exrays. Dr. Johnston's team in Gainesville is excellent. They include short massage with visit. Limit ROM until the pain subsides. Anti-inflammatories help if you take ibuprofen, but many devotees are against it. I'm not. Adjustments often rearrange in proper position to relieve any pressure points existing. You may have pulled something also. Limiting your movement in the arm will assist with healing if need be.
