Question from Connie: Can anyone recommend a really good modern hair stylist in Ashburn? Tired of going to Chantilly. Thank you.

Daina at Waves salon. She had a shop in leesburg and just opened up shop in Goose Creek next to roosters. Been going to her for nearly 10 years and won't let anyone else touch my hair!! She is an awesome person and stylist. She will do what you want her to do- not what she wants!
Donna V. replied:
Anyone at Modern Concepts salon in Ashburn by the Ashburn Village Giant.
Hilarie J. replied:
Sadie Bauer at the Hair Loft in downtown Leesburg OR Deniz Kaya Reay at The Cut Above in Leesburg (they even take walk-ins). I love both of these ladies!!!
Beth L. replied:
Nese or Samer at Current Salon on Ashburn road.
Julie C. replied:
Mary@Salon Cielo ....amazing she can do anything you can think of! I would come in with 3 different styles & she would find a way to combine them perfectly! (571) 333-4590 it takes a few weeks to get in to see her but she is worth the wait!
Courtney L. replied:
I go to Cathleen at Modern Concepts Salon. Love it!

MODERN CONCEPTS / Cathleen -- DO NOT go anywhere else. I have been to 2 other salons out here, went to 1 in Bethesda, 2 in Arlington, 1 in McLean, 1 in DuPont Circle. I come from Charlotte, where my hair guy was from NYC. Cathleen's been doing my hair for 9 months (every 5-6 wks), cut, color, highlights & she knows what she's doing. I have fine curly hair which is completely grey -- v difficult.
Rose K. replied:
Salon & Color Bar in ashburn road really good

Alexa Zagorites- Glow Studios, Ashburn Can’t recommend her enough! I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t have curly hair themselves to cut my hair lol, and she truly is a godsend :) super passionate about helping people love their curls. [Here’s a link to her info (scroll down)](https://glow-studios.com/our-team/) [Their website](https://glow-studios.com/services/glow-curl/) has a page specifically about curly hair cuts too, so that’s how you know they’re legit! Sincerely hope your wife gains back her confidence in her curls!! Good luck :)
Pentagee replied:
It's in downtown DC; but Gary at Inari Salon is great with more textured hair. Otherwise, look for a salon that has a [Deva Curl stylist near you](https://www.devacurl.com/finder). (A salon may be listed, but not all their stylists may be Deva Curl trained; so call first to find out whom that is.)
metamorpha_sis replied:
Gloria from Reflections of You Fairfax salon has been the only person I trust to do my own mixed race hair for the past 4 years, I know the struggle too well

I don't go to nova for hair stylists even though I'm local. If your wife wants someone to take care of her hair, I highly recommend First Avenue Hair Salon in Silver Spring, MD. They know curly hair.

This isn't a stylist recommendation but shea moisture has good products that would be compatible.

Bang Salon in DC. Many of the stylists themselves have "unnatural" colored hair. I can only assume they can do it on others.
Sto_Da_Dio replied:
Possibly check out the Paul Mitchell School for hair in Tyson's. They could absolutely do it and it would be cheap. My girlfriend is a teacher at the Woodbridge location and pretty much every student there has a different color in their hair.
alicelily replied:
This girl I know always colors her hair these crazy, wild colors like turquoise, pink, silver, purple/blue ombre, etc. She goes to D Rock Salon in Fairfax and Be Scene Hair Studio in Rockville.

I have a friend who goes to a place in Alexandria called Wonderland Studios. Pretty cool stuff from what I've seen and heard: https://www.styleseat.com/alicesu

I would really like an answer to this too. I normally do mine myself. I'm assuming dc or Alexandria have some cooler places. Reston (where I live) and great falls have pretty typical salons.
