In need of a good, honest, and fairly priced vet; any recommendations. Willing to go outside Hamilton as well.

I had a rough time finding a vet when I first got a cat. My friend recommended the Lynden animal clinic (http://lyndenanimalclinic.com) Dr Babcock is fantastic, prices are totally reasonable compared to the other places. Also, they don't have mysterious addons at checkout like I've had happen at other places. The only problem is its a bit out of the way. Totally worth it, if you ask me.

Clappison Vet just up Hwy 6 north of Hwy 5.

I go to Beatties http://www.beattieanimalhospital.com/ They have a Hamilton location now you might have to google as I don't think their website has been updated. They're a really big place with the cheapest prices I've come across. Annual flea meds (same brand) and shots were about $300 here compared to over $500 at my old vet.

Live downtown. I go to caledonia vet. They are great to us.

I would go to Kingsway Animal Hospital. Very educated people there. I would avoid smaller privately owned practices that overcharge.

You might try Grand River Vets on Argyle Street in Caledonia. Prices are much better than Hamilton, and it is only a 20 minute drive.

Not sure if this is true.. but if you go to a rural area vet the prices are much, much cheaper.

Oh! Try the [Troy veterinary clinic](http://www.troyvet.ca)! It started off as Troy mobile vet clinic, and the doctor who started it would come to your house if needed and she brought everything she could with her. Our dog was quite large and not able to get into cars, so she (her name's Paula) would come out and treat him at our house. She solved huge problems for us, and did her best to help us find reasonable treatments, tests, and medications that didn't cost top dollar. The clinic is near Rockton, and treats livestock and house pets. We just moved from the area, and Paula and her clinic will be incredibly difficult to replace.
