It has been years since I've been able to just "get a trim." Feels like in Richmond if the scissors come out, you're getting charged for a full cut. The last two hair cuts I had (which were essentially trims but were called "dry cuts") took maaaaaybe 10 minutes and I still got charged the full price. If you find somewhere please let us all know!

I think Blackbird does cuts by length too- may be a good option for you. I go to Birch in The Fan and love it. I got a cut last time and I think it was $30 with wash/dry/blow out

My friend is amazing. She has a setup in her home and charges me $20. I'll ask her if she's willing to have more people. She lives off 288 just south of the river though.

I go to Luminary in Church Hill and they are amazing. I am not sure what the pricing would be for just a trim but I feel like they’d be willing to work with you/be honest about it.

Look on Groupon, you can typically get a basic cut for $20-$30 at a decent salon. I went to the salon in the William Byrd recently and really liked the guy Greg, I would honestly pay full price to go back to him.

I've never understood the differentiation of a cut vs a trim. I did hair for 7 years and found that "trims" are sometines more difficult, as many people have this weird expectation that their hair will simultaneously look different and the same. Even if you're only cutting 1/2", you're still cutting every hair.
