Have whoever is worried about spending more on the budget for video/not thinking it's worth it watch the first video on this page (Rainstorm Wedding Video Reel). It explains the importance of getting a proper video done and why, on every anniversary, it's what you guys are going to sit down to watch to remember (both things you may have forgotten and didn't even realize happened) a day that would otherwise fade away into a blur of jumbled memories… http://rainstormvideoandfilm.com/portfolio_weddings.html

Call David with DHC. 602-399-2957 Won't be as low as Adam said your video budget was (kind of unrealistic I'm afraid) but he'll certainly work within your limits.
I have almost 4k saved for my wedding. How much money did you spend on your wedding? I'm having about 75 people I already have an officiant, photographer, and caterer in...

And for decorations, I'd say a trip to the dollar store for some things will work. Some other decor I'd say go to orientaltradingcompany.com

I have a phenomenal DJ for you, he has handled several friend's weddings. They are Voted Best in the Valley several years running, and just so happens they are my neighbors! And they work with your budget... just ask for Eric http://www.gotyoucoveredmusic.com/
Turtle L. replied:
Also there is a bed and breakfast in old town Peoria that may suit your venue needs. Becky and I got married there, my best friend and Becky's sister got married there too. http://www.oldtownweddingcenter.com/
Brandon W. replied:
I can offer my back yard for your venue. My wife Shannel can do flowers, we used to own a flower shop and she is amazing! Turtle for photo and Paul Kane for DJ. We did our 12 year anniversary and vow renewal here and had about 65 people and it was not crowded at all. Also have a great connection with tables and chairs. Oh and if looking for great caterer check out Luncha Libre, amazing food cooked on site!

I am looking for an commercial liability insurance co to provide one day coverage for a DJ????
Lonnie E. replied:
What, the DJ doesn't have coverage on their own? What the heck? Hmmm....I would be cautious. What role do you have in this situation with why you're asking? Usually it is the DJ's responsibility. Besides, what coverage do you need it for? If they are a larger company that is doing some pretty elaborate stuff, then I'm surprised they wouldn't have this already. If they are just basically bringing a few speakers on stands, some amps, a mixer and a laptop, what are you concerned about? Yes, I know there are 1000 things that "could" go wrong but if they don't have much, then the place having the event probably has the guests covered if something does happen. Just saying. Other than that, there are a few places that will insure for one day events and event some insurance companies like State Farm or Farmers Insurance (yes, I know that sounds odd but they do provide insurance for the entertainment industry).
Lonnie E. replied:
Georgette Bradshaw That's great. I'm actually surprised to hear what the situation was and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Because this is right up my alley, although you have better things to worry about, may I ask what they were giving them fits about? Also, will this venue now be on your "cautious" list? Not the "do not work with" list but just the "????" list? Glad to hear it all worked out.
Gregg H. replied:
Just FYI, liability insurance for mobile DJs costs about $400 per year. For multi-ops such as mine, additional systems cost only about $25 per year. Therefore, it is really inexcusable for a DJ not to carry liability insurance. Yet, many so-called professional DJs won't spend the $400.
Gary T. replied:
Forgot DJ site to purchase yearly DJ Insurance for $250.00. You can call another Wedding Planner and use there Insurance, Please make a copy and show "Client". DJ's can link with another Mobile Disc Company to Network and use there Insurance. Never, ever purchase Insurance for a DJ. I'll provide proper information later, Planners should purchase Insurance in case of Emergency.
