My husband and I have twin preemie sons and just recently moved back to the area from NY ... we were seeing Uzelac ... we informed her of all of our transcripts and that one of our sons was indeed born with a hernia (she kept avoiding the issue and gav e us every excuse in the book why he couldn't have the surgery to repair it right away) ... One evening it spiked horribly ... he was screaming, avoiding his feedings, and throwing up ... we had taken him to the er in crown pt ... after spending 8 hrs in the er ... the er dr informed us that they could not even get ahold of Uzelac at all ... but they went ahead and sent us to Indy Riley Hospital without a pediatrician referral for emergency surgery anyways ... While at Rileys we were informed that this surgery could have been done a lot sooner ... the Surgeon pulled my husband and I aside and told us they still have yet to hear from our pediatrician and encouraged us to look for a better dr once we got home ... My husband and I decided to stick with Uzelac for a little longer to see if she can prove herself and give us any reason why she was unreachable the whole weekend we were in Indy for the surgery ... she has yet to prove herself ... with that being said we are now looking into Healthy Kids Care Center in St John - across from the Target Plaza ... Can anyone give us any information on them? We were told that at North Pt Dr.Gold nor Brewer are taking any new patients ... and they are not taking any more Medicaid patients period. Thats why we are looking into the St John pediatrics. Thanks for any input you can give.
Pam S. replied:
Stephanie, did you have Dr. Marshall at St. John? That's who I had for my granddaughter and when I called for an appt. they said she was gone. I was just in there a few weeks before, they didn't give me any warnings so I could find a new doctor, because my granddaughter has asthma, I have to keep up with her meds. I just thought that was pretty crappy of St. John.
Tracy P. replied:
Dr Reena John
Dawnya H. replied:
we live in Lowell, so we wanted something rather local, that's why we were looking into St John ... but if this falls thru me may look further into Dyer ... Thanks for the input ... the clinic I am referring to tho is Healthy Kids in St John thru Community Healthcare System ... Dr's Dershewitz, Casas, Heinert??? I think this may be the building next to the Hammond Clinic

Dr Kelly is a fabulous dr. He's very personable, down to earth and makes personal relationships with his patients. Unfortunately he is not in his own practice anymore, he is now with north shore/health linc in Michigan city. They r unorganized and sometimes downright rude, but to see dr Kelly, it's worth going they them.

Just saw him a couple weeks ago and he gave me new meds which seem to be helping with some of my symptoms. He will spend time and listen to you

North point peds is great. We see Dr Brewer and love her and I have always seen her even if I made same day appt.
Tonya S. replied:
Excellent office I worked there for a few years. We see Dr. Amin she is great. They always keep you with your doctor for well visits. For sick visits they also try to keep you with your doctor, but if your doctor is out they have the ability to get you in with someone else. Another great thing is they take call so Someone is always on call. At this moment I know Dr. Amin is out on maternity leave, and Dr Gold will not be accepting new patients so I've been told. That leaves Dr. Khattri, Dr. Vicente, and Dr. Brewer. They ate all great:)
Pamela C. replied:
LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Brewer!!!!
Annie S. replied:
I second north point pediatrics in crown point. It's on the south side of town, so quick and easy to get to from lowell. My two little ones see Dr. Gold, but we've seen Dr.brewer for emergencies. They've always been able to squeeze us in or talk to me on the phone when something was going on with my kids.
Julie R. replied:
I agree too!!! I really like Dr Brewer.. my little one use to see Dr. Vicente.. I think all the doctors in that office are great.
Sarah F. replied:

Meg S. replied:
Annette Black Hardin, it is CP Peds that I have issues with. Sad because, like you, I love the docs, but the office is just horrible. Dr. Brechner is our doctor, so we may just use him for the whole family. Bonus points since our chiro is at Winfield, too lol
Annette H. replied:
How do you like Dr pop? I've been debating on switching to him. I like Dr Matt, but it's such a drive, I avoid going for that reason.
