Sometimes you might find comfort from a therapist who brings understanding but also positivity and is progressive. Online therapists can be more convenient and cost effective too. Good morning Anonymous, I am a local social worker who provides psychotherapy, specifically Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which is the most effective treatment for depression and anxiety. Throughout treatment there is a lot of opportunity to earn healthy coping skills, which just may include some yoga! I think one of the most important aspects of any therapy, no matter where you land in this journey, is that you feel comfortable with the therapist. Call the therapist, or go in and meet them, and get a sense of who they are and what they can offer. Trust your gut. It's a really good step in your recovery to ask for help...one step at a time! A side note re: my hours, I do offer evening appointments throughout the week. You can check out my website for more information - www.collectivehc.ca You got this, ~Jordan and thank you Jason for the tag:)

Is the requester looking for a counselor or a therapist? A psychologist or a psychiatrist? These are all very important questions. They're also very good reasons why Ashley's suggestion is the best one. Your GP will work with you to help you determine the type of assistance you need. All of these names being provided here could have very different qualifications and designations. Mental health is something that needs proper attention and care and Facebook isn't the best place to find that in this case.
