Photophil Steingard in alliston. He’s a photographer but specializes in destination weddings. He has an unbelievable amount of contacts and will point you in the right direction. Super fun to work with too.

Jane Phillips is amazing. She is very knowledgeable and has been in the business for many years. Both Airline and hotels and if I'm not mistaken she worked for a tour operator.

My husband and I were married January 2014 in Varadero Cuba. Just make sure you give your guests lots of notice so they can save. We gave ours a full year. We used Marlin Travel in Wal-Mart and loved it. They were awesome. Look into discounted rates. We had over 20 people go so we had a free wedding and we also were given discounted rates. We didn't use the onsite photographer either we had a local photographer do it and it was cheaper and we were given 500 plus photos on a CD. It was worth it. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me.

We used www.myweddingaway.com and our planner was awesome. We got married in Laguna Azul in Varadaro Cuba. My suggestion as a groom, don’t stress too much. Let your planner handle as much as they can. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions to your planner and try to find a Facebook group for the resort you are staying at or there was a destination wedding group for our resort where everyone asked questions about venue and whatnot

We got married in Varadero, Cuba at a resort and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. The planning was done at the resort and pretty much as soon as we checked in we were introduced to the co-ordinator. The choices were somewhat limited but I liked that - you weren't paralyzed by options and you didn't have to spend hours making decisions instead of lounging on the beach. The resort hooked us up with a photographer (approx 150 CUC) and a band. Everything was there waiting for us the day of - they even repainted the gazebo. DO - use a travel agent. We went with Marlin Travel. DO - give your guests plenty of time to save DO - be prepared for changes of circumstances in your guests that will make them unable to attend your wedding DO - show your appreciation to your guests for shelling out time and money to attend your wedding. We gave our guests little bubba kegs filled with toiletries, medicines, gum, pens, toonies for coffees at the airport and little trinkets to give to the maids. DO - tip all parties involved DO - consider the climate and environment when planning wedding outfits. DO - make a big damn deal at the airport about how you're the bride and you're carrying a wedding dress. Carry it separately on a hanger, don't stuff it into your luggage. If they don't offer it, request that they hang up the dress somewhere on the plane. Also we wore "Bride" and "Groom" t-shirts and they kept on "forgetting" to charge our group for the beers on the plane. DON'T - have high expectations for hair and makeup if you're heading to a place like Cuba. The salon at the resort was straight out of the 80s and there were no makeup artists on site. Have fun!!!
