Who's got a favorite veterinarian out there?
I have aging cats and a dog
They currently (knock on wood) are in pretty good health but I'd like to know of a good vet for...
Leisl S. replied:
Hart vet.. She's excellent!
Wendy A. replied:
I love PG vet. Dr Deb has always treated me and the "kids" with great care. She has never done anything that we haven't discussed extensively. She has never done unnecessary testing either. When it came time to put any of the down (I've done 6 to date), they have always treated us with respect. I did pay a fee to stay with those I could, but it wasn't much. It's like a counselling fee. When Dr John was practicing there, before he retired, he treated us the same way. With dignity and respect.
Vivian C. replied:
Dr. Fuller at Hart Vet!!
Angela L. replied:
Murdoch vet. They always put you with same Dr. Unless you need to come in on Dr's day off or if you request a different doctor
Sandra R. replied:
Dr. Bonafine at College Heights Veterinary is the best in town. When he left PG Vet Clinic, most of his patients followed him. I have a 9-yr-old Cavalier. Dr. Bonafine is kind, gentle and above all practical. He only takes drastic measures when absolutely necessary....important especially with elderly pets. Only thing is I don't know if he is accepting new patients.
Teresa K. replied:
Dr. Bonafine was excellent with our aging dog. He helped us keep her as healthy as possible and was really good with her and us when the end came.
Anna M. replied:
I'm afraid to tell you, they will become too popular!! Dr Jenn McConnell at Murdocks and Dr Green who is our mobile vet, can't say enough good things about them
Kristy H. replied:
I love Dr Merritt at Ospika Vet, she is wonderful!
Ashley S. replied:
I love Dr Bonafine at College Heights Vet. He's won at least two Vet of the Year awards:) If you're on the opposite end of town, Dr Fuller at Hart Vet is also wonderful. I like these smaller practices because you get the same Dr each time. They share on-call with the larger practices so there's always help in the case of an after-hours emergency
Shawna M. replied:
I use the Prince George Veterinary hospital and love them. http://www.pgvet.bc.ca
Jaime G. replied:
I 2 nd Dr Merritt at Ospika
Jodi B. replied:
I love Dr Fuller and all the girls up at the Hart vet. Even the admin staff always greets us both by name! There's a tech there (I think her name is Kelly) she is amazing! My cat isn't very nice when getting things done and she's always so nice to Nova! Also I love Murdoch Vet, but make sure to get Dr. McConnell not Dr. Murdoch.
Karen N. replied:
I've always gone to PG Veterinary Hospital. Don't be late for an appointment though!
Laura Z. replied:
Dr. Fuller at the Hart Vetrinary Clinic! Love her!

I would recommend Family Dental Across from Super Store! Unfortunately do not have number for you, sorry will have to find it on your own. I recently moved to Family Dental at Spruceland as it was closer to me and more convenient. Although I would recommend The one across from Super Store more:)

Best vet to take my dog to?! Can we just walk in or need an appointment? Do they charge an exam fee or how does that all work? Thank you!
Kathleen D. replied:
All PG vets are excellent. I have used PG Vet Clinic for over 25 years and have always been more than happy. They take care of your pets from birth to a dignified goodbye.
Sherry P. replied:
If you live in the Hart, the Hart Family Vet Clinic is awesome.
Kylie W. replied:
PG Vet is our favourite, they are fairly close to the mall on 18 th Ave. Just give them a call this morning, they can sometimes squeeze you in if it's an emergency, if not they will give you the emerg line. 250-563-1541
Jodi T. replied:
I will only ever go to Murdocks, they actually have care and compassion and are really great at what they do, Dr. McConnell is my favourite but they are all super 250-963-9898

Katie E. replied:
Maybe call the PG SPCA Hospital as they frequently have cheaper pricing or payment plans. You can also call clinics over the phone and ask for their exam, blood and urine test costs ahead of time to get an idea of price differences

Diabeties? Sounds like it. Its not expensive to take care of if you make your own food for him. http://www.petdiabetes.com/pdorg/home_cooking.htm Diet matters a ton. The insulin is like 35$ and lasts me 6 weeks.
Just wondering if anyone has boarded their cat at Ospika vet ? Were you happy with them? Thanking you in advance for answering me
Karen K. replied:
I send my dog to https://www.facebook.com/1829105013982783 MacKye Kennels and she has been very happy there. I don't know much about cats, but I understand that their setup is quite nice and that the cats have a larger area for excercise. http://www.mackyekennels.com/cat-boarding
Kim J. replied:
We always send use MacKye Kennels for our dog.....Joanne’s cat setup looks pretty cool too

Wendy A. replied:
I deal with PG Vet and find them to be very personable. They talk to you like you are a person not a Dr. I have been with them now for close to 20 years or more. I used to live out of town, and brought the family down when needed.
June L. replied:
Hart Vet! Sammi Fuller is the best!
Stevee-Rae D. replied:
I highly recommend Dr Bonefine at college heights vet as well!! He is absolutely amazing! I have also heard wonderful things about Murdoch Vet!!
Jodi B. replied:
Dr Fuller at https://www.facebook.com/1412440469017812Hart Family Veterinary Clinic Ltd she's amazing!
Everyone will have a preference, as do I. All vets in town are good Call and visit some. It's not just their services but u also need a good report with them. See how u feel. No vet office is cheap. It's a business but most also have a genuine care for their pts and their owners. Good luck on your choice
Jennifer W. replied:
Hart Vet <3 She's the best, caring and reasonable prices. https://www.facebook.com/hartfamilyvet/

We love Dr. Merritt at Ospika vet. She's fantastic with all of our pets (and us!)
My poor boy has something going on with his eye. I need vet suggestions !
Megan L. replied:
We see Terrance at PG Vet on 18 th. He's amazing with our doggies. I hope your guy feels better soon ❤️
Tracy A. replied:
We use PG Veterinary Clinic for all our pets and have done so for 16 years.
Rebecca J. replied:
Prince George Vet Clinic. 259 563 1541. Don't mess around with eyes. It's best to get it checked out
Trina R. replied:
any discharge or is it just swollen? to buck the trend I'm not sure I would take that to a vet just yet, but that's me. Polysporin eye drops are pretty effective for most minor eye ailments, but that would be if there's redness or discharge from the eye. If it's just swelling i'd watch at least 24 hours and see.... but if you haven't been to a vet in town and don't mind paying the bill then it's always a good time to start creating a relationship. Personally I've used PG Vet in prince and was quite happy. Dr Merrit at Ospika is a wonderful vet too
Good vet in town? Please and thanks. Got a new little kitten
Paulette B. replied:
College Heights is my usual vet.
Angela L. replied:
Murdoch Vet. And they have kitten vaccine packages
Caroline P. replied:
Ospika vet clinic. While we weren’t home at the time, my mom and son took our beagle there after he suffered some unknown injury to his leg and the vet receptionist of the clinic closest to us was a jerk. Even way back in the 80 s/90 s, we had ospika vets come out to our place for our horses and dog. So awesome, even back then.
Does anyone know a good vet that isn't overly priced
Karine T. replied:
Dr Fuller at hart vet
Wendy A. replied:
Call around. I deal strictly at PG vet cause they don't treat me like a number, they treat me and my pets very well. They also expalin everything in terms that I understand.
Jodi B. replied:
All vets are priced pretty much the same. I personally like Dr Fuller at the Hart Vet. I also really like all the techs that work there. My cat is super rude to them and they are still sooo nice to her lol
Chanel S. replied:
Venderhoof vet for sure. Heard tons of great things and super affordable.
