About us

Written by my good friend, Allie Layos:

Brooke has always had a fondness for memories; as a child her favorite pastime was flipping through the family photo album. “I was always interested in looking to the past, linking pictures to stories my family would share,” Brooke said.

Now, through Studio 637 Photography, she is delighted to provide other families with a way to preserve their own special moments.

Brooke has been using a camera for this very purpose since grade school. Always the “keeper of the camera” on family trips, she continued to use photography to document her own life experiences, from the endless college sorority events to her Walt Disney internship and semester in Florida.

It was during her junior year at Missouri S&T that she took an intro to photography course and began to develop her “eye” for something other than snapshots. The following Christmas her parents bought her a Nikon DSLR, and Studio 637 was born.

“I still continue to photograph everything, but now, instead of just taking snapshots, I put thought and care into the portraits I preserve. For the most part, the way I view life is through my camera lens.”

Brooke describes her art as a cross between traditional and modern photojournalism. She believes a candid photo can tell a story posed photos often cannot, and has a knack for knowing just when to click the shutter.

Her matchless zest for life shines through her work, which has been featured in online blogs as well as in the international equestrian magazine, Saddle & Bridle Magazine.

Brooke dreams of eventually making Studio 637 her fulltime career … and one day finding the man of her dreams. But more importantly, her goals center around the same things they always have: her faith, her clients and the memories she is helping them to safeguard.

“I want to become friends with my clients,” Brooke said. “I want to share in their hopes and dreams and fears … I want people to be inspired by my photos. I want to... show more
inspire people. And I want people to see God through me.”
