  Hi all , thanks for the add ! We live 100% off grid in France . Recently a lightning strike destroyed my Studer 2kw inverter ( yes i cried ) .. Have saved up and bought a new Outback vfx 2.6k , delivered yesterday ! Yay ! Only thing is , i'm loathed to install it without a decent lightning arrester ( i don't like crying and if i fry my new outback i'll probably have to consider candles and troglodite living) .. I've had a scan through the bottomless pit of the net and there's plenty of options ranging from outbacks own device (i daren't ask the price) , cheap chinese stuff , moderately priced stuff from the USA etc etc .. Can anyone recommend a unit / company that supplies such a thing that is of good quality (ie guaranteed to actually work!) that is also ' reasonably ' priced .. Preferably something that someone has actually had experience with and knows it works !! Although it was only my AC inverter that died ( cue tears welling up ) i'd really like to protect my FM80 solar regulator too , i'm assuming i'll therefore need one for AC and one for DC ?? Many many thanks in advance for any tips / pointers given !!

  I use Delta Lightning Arrestors AC and DC, cost about $35 to $45 US.
