  Help anyone? Hi all! I'm brand new to Chelmsford - we bought a home and moved a week ago! Unfortunately, my (gas) furnace appears to be broken; it was slightly leaking gas and is apparently older than I am, so we are being recommended to replace it. Money is an issue, as we just bought our house. The quote we were given for a new furnace - not even a super efficient one, or one that also does hot water - was really high-sounding. Just wondering if anyone has experience with buying a new gas furnace and has any thoughts on a ballpark cost for furnace and installation, and how much more an efficient one or one with a hot water heater might be.
