  Shirlee -- My sister lives in Johnson City and I once dragged her to Yarntiques - www.yarntiques.com 410 E Watauga Ave, Johnson City - (423) 232-2933. It's a little house stuffed with yarn. I'm not an LYS connoisseur, but they seemed to have a good selection and there was a friendly group there knitting while I visited.
