  Hello! This may seem like an odd place to seek a recommendation for a reputable general surgeon, however, most of my friends on Facebook live in my home state and most likely can't vouch for a surgeon in the central mass area! I currently use a large medical practice that only refers to other specialists within their group. It's very useful in many ways but when seeking a surgeon, I'd like more autonomy in choosing rather than be told, you have an appt with Dr. So and So and he'll be your surgeon. I think word of mouth is sometimes better than finding someone/something on the internet! Since I've divulged all this- I might as well say, it's just a gallbladder removal but I feel like with any surgery, your life is in the hands of the surgeon no matter how simple or common the procedure. I just wasn't entirely comfortable with the surgeon I met with and so I'm trying to go rogue and find one outside of the medical group! So, if anyone has experience with a great general surgeon, please share! Thanks in advance :)

  Dr. Nathaniel Merrill. 978-840-6481 He removed my gallbladder. While I was in surgery, my dad was dying. As soon as I came to, he personally wheeled into my dads room so I could say goodbye. He was also the doctor who did my sister's mastectomy. When I saw him for my gall bladder, I mentioned that my sister had passed away. He fought my ins co to insist I get an MRI instead of a regular mammogram. Dr. Merrill is an amazing man and an excellent surgeon.
