  ISO Gastroenterologist in Charlotte I'm searching for a Gastroenterologist in Charlotte and I'm having trouble finding a resource for recommendations, so I thought I'd give this a shot. I do not want to rely on my primary care doctor for the referral since it's not required by my insurance to do so (Blue Cross Blue Shield). In the past my primary care has sent me to specialists which were not great and were just a name in a directory they were flipping through. Same goes for my insurance company. ​ Any help is greatly appreciated! I live Uptown, but have no problem traveling anywhere in or around the 485 loop.

  Your two primary Gastro groups are the previously mentioned Charlotte Gastro and Carolina Digestive Health (www.carolinadigestive.com). Both are well respected and I believe both work with both major health groups (Novant and Atrium). I go to Carolina Digestive Health and am happy with them. Only complaint is that the day I went they were running way behind so my appt took a couple hours to be seen. Not sure how common it is though. They have an office by Wendover/Randolph (off Billingsley).

  Dr. Preston Purdum? Love him. They did move to Belmont. It's called Carolina Digestive Health Associates, 547 Highland St, Belmont, NC, (704) 820-9430. He and his staff have always been good to me and my husband.
