  Andrea asks: Is there a specific name for the special diet used to help children with attention/behavior issues? Has anyone had luck with it? I have a student (7 year old) that is struggling with ongoing attention deficit/behavior issues and I am looking for options to share with his mom. Any ideas on play therapists or other therapists that would accept Medicaid? Mom has worked with one therapist, but did not have great results. ~Emily

  Please let her know there is a local CHADD chapter. www.chadd.net/356. We are also on Facebook. Our speakers cover everything from diet, behavior therapy, chiropractic to medication. I feel strongly that parents make informed decisions-no matter what road they choose to take for treatment.

  Does anyone else have a child with ADHD? We currently medicate and it kills me, but the poor thing can't function at school or in his sports without it. We are currently doing chiropractic care, have an appointment with an ENT on Monday to check if he has obstructive sleep apnea due to his VERY large tonsils, keep incredibly busy with activities and sports, are slowly making the switch to clean eating, and are looking for a behavioral therapist. I know none of these are going to work over night but I will try anything to either get him off meds or lower the dosage. Anyone else going through the same thing or have any suggestions for natural treatment or a therapist? Thanks!

We have a mix of parents that do diet, medication, behavior modification, or combinations. Most importantly, we support one another without passing judgement.

  Www.chadd.net/356. We are a local CHADD support group. Our next meeting is in two weeks. Our speaker for July is a dietician. We have a good mix of parents that do and do OT Medicare.
