About us
Children's Academy, Inc. is a full-service child care provider which accepts children from 6 weeks of age to 12 years of age. We are open year-round with the exception of the holidays listed in our Parent Handbook from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. We seek to provide a loving and safe environment to aid parents in the healthy development of their children.
Children's Academy is owned and operated by Scott and Lana Judd who are veterans in the child care industry. Scott and Lana first entered the child care business in 1999, purchasing an existing center in partnership with Lana's sister, who is still in the child care industry herself. They next built a center in the Highview area of Louisville which was successful from the start. Scott and Lana also previously owned a facility in Crestwood, KY as well. It is important to note that the centers that Scott and Lana have owned and/or founded are all still operating today as healthy businesses that provide an important service to the community.
As newlyweds planning a family when they entered the child care industry, Scott and Lana sought to provide the kind of child care that they would be comfortable having for their own children. They found that although Louisville has a lot of child care facilities, the ones that strive to provide the kind of environment that they would be comfortable leaving their own children in were few and far between. Scott and Lana believe that a successful center begins with dedicated, hands-on owners who are in their center daily overseeing all the staff and programs. Lana's years of experience as a child care director and love for working with children has given her the ability to craft a curriculum and programs that are both enriching and engaging.

Scott and Lana are South-End natives who seek to provide a valuable service to the community in which they reside. They have three children, Christian, 15, Clayton, 13, and Camryn, 9. They are active members of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville with Scott serving as a deacon and on the student ministry teaching team and Lana serving in children's and student ministry. show more
