  WWII Tourism at Near Rockford: The Rockford event is attended by re-enactors from about 40 states, which requires many to take a few days off work for travel. We want to put together a list of military related museums, WWI and WWII related sites, surplus stores and larger antique centers near or on the main roads to Rockford, including in the Chicago area. We welcome locals from near the area to post their favorite recommendations for the out-of-staters attending. Please post a URL if you can find one. We also want to create a driving tour of the area for those interested in seeing remnants of Camp Grant in south Rockford.
