  Need wisdom teeth removal... I have no clue how to navigate insurance So I currently have GAP instead of GHI. I waived it using Medi-cal. I need to get my wisdom teeth removed but I have no clue how to go about it using my insurance to cover it for me. Does anyone know who I can contact for help on navigating the process or know of a oral surgeon who accepts Medi-cal? Throwaway account for privacy reasons.

  I saw the oral and maxillofacial surgeon today and had a CT Scan, the results are that the disc is completely gone on the right side and is bone on bone, the left side still has some disk but it is deteriorating. The doctor's treatment plan is pain meds, once the jaw locks closed or open then he will refer me out of the area for a surgery consult. My questions are many.... 1. Is this normal treatment for the severity of my joint? 2. Can anyone recommend an oral and maxillofacial doctor in the Northern California area that would be good to see for a second opinion? 3. Is the rest of my life going to be liquid/soft diet and pain meds? Thanks for your help.
