About us
Head instructor Michelle Mohr has been showing for 10 years in hunter under saddle, hunter over fences, hunt seat equitation, western pleasure, showmanship, western horsemanship, and bareback equitation. She has won numerous Champion and Reserve Champion all-around awards on her own horses and others. Michelle also has experience in team sorting, team penning, and ranch horse versatility.
Michelle also competes in the IHSA and got her start at NCTC were she placed 5th in Zone 7 Region 2 for Intermediate Horsemanship, helped to student teach the Advanced Horsemanship class, and helped to student coach the Western Horsemanship team. She helped to establish an officer team for NCTC, serving as the first Vice President, and established several open horse shows in Gainesville. She graduated from NCTC with an Associate's Degree in Equine Business Management.
She rode for the Tarleton State Equestrian Team and served as President and Vice President. She made Tarleton history to be the first rider to qualify for IHSA Regionals in Hunt Seat Equitation on the flat, were she was Reserve Champion in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation on the Flat and then placed 10th in Zone 7 Finals. She made more Tarleton history by being the first rider to qualify for Western IHSA Regionals, placing 5th, and one of two riders to jointly become the first two Tarleton riders to qualify and ride in Regionals for Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences, where she placed 7th.
