Lee R. asked:looking for advice $1,234 - Africville Is there anyone on here who is a Volkswagen mechanic or anyone who knows anything about electrical systems in a 2005 vw golf tdi. BasicAlly the alternator just randomly stopped charging the battery and the car will shut off unless it's connected to jumpers . We replaced the alternator today and the cat starts once boosted and runs for 5 to ten mins then the car shuts off because it's pulling too much juice . The info I found suggests it could be an alternator fuse or that the positive cable from battery to alternator is not connected. Anyone who drives vw have this issue before? Or does anyone have suggestions on what could Be wrong? Brand new alternator and brand new battery still won't hold charge . Plz help thanks!Caryann R. replied:http://www.kraftwerx.ca/
