I am a single mom of 3 kids...although they are mostly grown now LOL My oldest son is 23, my middle son is 19, and my daughter is 17. I have lived in Lake Stevens nearly all of my life and love raising my kids here, too.
When I'm not making/decorating cakes I am running a Home Daycare, which I have done for 18 years now.
I started doing cakes for my own children. I grew up having theme parties for my birthday, so I wanted that for my kids, too. Thanks to a gift subscription to "Family Fun" magazine I had a scrapbook filled with theme ideas including the matching cakes. Eventually a few daycare parents asked if I could do one for them. Then their friends started asking. Then my daughter talked me into creating a Facebook page for my cakes. BOOM! I went from making 10 - 20 cakes a year to 6-10 a week! At first it was being saved up as our vacation money. Now it's putting my son through college!
The more cakes I do, the more I learn :-) I'm so thankful to be doing something I love so much!!
