Who misses their local neighborhood record store? Favorites of mine, like Flip Side & Rose Records, I can remember visiting at least once a week. There were others, I enjoyed as well, some were national chains, & other's exclusive to the Chicagoland area. One's I remember include, Musicland, Peaches, Sound Warehouse, Hegewisch, Kroozin Music, Music Works, Tower, Camelot, Rock Records, Borders, Big Apple/Skippers, Coconuts, The Turntable, Sam Goody & Crow's Nest, just to name a few. Flip Side was a Hoffman Estates-based company that was in business between 1969-1992 & Rose Records, a Bellwood-based company that actually started out as a radio repair operation in 1931, & eventually closed it's doors in the late 90's.
